Chery Baird received her B.A. with honors in art from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana and earned her Master of Fine Arts from Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA.   She has been a guest lecturer at colleges and has judged many local and state art exhibitions. As a professional artist for 40 years, her award winning mixed media work has included figures, portraits, landscape, and still life. For the past 20 years she has focused on the options available through abstract shapes and forms. She is a Signature Member of the National Collage Society and as won six national collage awards. Her collages have been published in three books, including, Collage in All Dimensions.

Collected by private patrons across the nation, Baird’s work is also featured in numerous state, city and corporate collections. These include the State of Georgia Collection, Emory University, Chattahoochee Valley Art Association, Group Six, Atlanta Gas light, UPS, Anderson Tate & Carr P.C., and the Hyatt Regency in Muscat, Oman.

Baird is a dedicated and committed teacher, who inspires her students to become better artists. Her curriculum includes fundamental core classes and special workshops on a variety of techniques and mediums. She has taught art in the Atlanta area for 32 years, including the American International University, Spruill Center for the Arts, Gwinnett Council for the Arts and Steeplehouse Arts Center.
